Huawei workshop on 17-19 January 2023

The workshop will be organised a hybrid event – onsite at Gottingen and also online.

The training workshop will focus on the following key learnings

Day 1. Implement, parallelise and optimise simulation applications on Arm-based clusters

Day 2. Implement and test a training and inference workflows using Arm CPUs and (in a second step) ML and inference accelerators

Day 3. Implement and test a micro-service for inference running on Arm CPUs and deployed on an Edge using Kubernetes/KubeEdge instance.

Students from Sofia University visited the HPC laboratory

On the 5th of December a group of students at the faculty of geosciences, Sofia University visited the HPC laboratory- partner in the EuroCC NCC Bulgaria to learn more about HPC/HPDA technologies used in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). They will join the forthcoming events organized by the EuroCC BG.

Фокус на събитията от проекта SEARCH  тази година е темата за стъклото, най-универсалният материал в човешката история със съществена роля в обществото за технологичен, научен и икономически напредък, и изменението на климата и свързаните спешни и важни избори, който човечеството трябва да направи.

Експерт на лабораторията изнесе лекция на тема “География на стъклото” пред ученици в две училища от Югозападна България.

Intel OneAPI Training (Registration is required)

Dear HPC-User you are cordially invited to take part in the “Intel OneAPI Training” from 8 to 10 November 2022. This online training course is co-organised by the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) and Intel for the German NCC. The 3 half-days online workshop introduces you to the OneAPI initiative, a cross-industry, open and standards-based unified programming model that delivers a common developer experience across multiple/ multi-vendor CPU and  accelerator architectures. It is designed for faster application performance, more productivity, and greater innovation. The oneAPI industry initiative encourages collaboration on the oneAPI specification and compatible oneAPI implementations across the ecosystem. NORDUnet is inviting you to a webinar on the economic value of submarine cables in the Arctic, and associated topics relating to fiber connectivity between Japan and the EU.

Discover how direct sub-sea fiber connectivity from the EU to Japan and Asia through the Artic region will add redundancy, and mitigate existing risks with the current EU-Asia connectivity, which is either through the Suez/Egypt or in control by Russia or China.

It will be a 90-minute on-line event for everybody who has an interest in international connectivity, the impact on regional development,

 and the green agenda for data centers.

You will get the opportunity to explore more regarding the societal and economic impact of fiber connectivity and data centers in the Artic and the Nordic region at large, including the energy impact.
