Ivo Iliev gave a short presentation about the lab at a Matchmaking event of the Bulgarian and Norwegian IT businesses, part of the NORWAY GRANTS 2014-2021 BG 10 GREEN INDUSTRY INNOVATION PROGRAMME.
HPC team started negotiations with industry on shared usage of the NESTUM cluster (5th of September 2017).
Unexpected power outage was occurred on 06/09/2017 system was down for a period of 12 hours. Nestum is recovered and running again.
On 30.09.2017, HPC Lab was visited by a delegation from the Norwegian embassy. They were shown a brief presentation of the work being done in the lab, with extra focus placed on the obtained results, as well as the upcoming partnerships with different businesses.
The maintenance has concluded. Access to the machine is restored.
Due to a reconfiguration of the system’s networking, the machine will be unavailable tomorrow, 24.08.2017 from 14:00 GMT+2 to 16:00 GMT+2. As of this evening (23.08) all nodes are set to a DRAIN state, meaning that existing jobs will run, but no new jobs can be started. Unfortunately, if the job does not terminate until 14:000 GMT+2 on the 24th, then your data will be lost. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Research held at the HPC lab in the Sofia Tech Park has demonstrated that vacancies in bilayer graphene can be used for controllable magnetization of the material. The results will be presented at the European Advanced Materials Congress (EAMC), which is a principal annual international conference in the field organised by International Association of Advanced Materials and VBRI Sverige AB during 22 – 24 August 2017, Stockholm, Sweden.
The head of the HPC lab, Prof. Ana Proykova will shortly present some of the results under the talk title “Magnetism of bilayer graphene with vacancies” on the 23rd of August 2017,
session Global Graphene Forum: Growth, Synthesis and Characterizations
Prof. Proykova is the co-chair of the session Growth of Carbon Nanomaterials
Here is a pdf version of the material presented in the WRF seminar on 01.08.2017 (in Bulgarian).
On 26.07.17, Fujitsu and some of their partners hosted a seminar in Sofia Tech Park and paid a short visit to the HPC Lab as Nestum‘s computational nodes are Fujitsu machines. The guests were given a short lecture about the machine and were shown examples of simulations, illustrating the work that’s being done in the lab.
